Stereo Exchange’s Spring High-End Audio Show

From Friday April 12th through Sunday April 14th Stereo Exchange, located at 627 Broadway in the Soho section of New York City, will be hosting their annual Spring High-End Audio Show. This free show will be open to the public all weekend and will feature presentations and demonstrations from some of the most important names in the audio industry along with the North American debut of several products.

Throughout the weekend, Stereo Exchange will be offering special show pricing on everything in the store with discounts on all current merchandise from 10-25% off. Additionally, all demo and pre-owned equipment will be offered at prices below dealer cost.

Here are some of the confirmed presentations for the weekend:

 

McIntosh Audio

Michael Russo- Regional Sales Manager

Ken Zelin- International Training Manager & Product Specialist

  • There are a slew of new products coming from the legendary Binghamton, NY manufacturer including a stereo receiver (MAC6700- $6,500), Integrated amplifier (MA7900- $7,000) and tube pre-amplifier (C2500- $6,500). All of these new products feature analog AND digital inputs that will decode digital music sources up to 32 bit and 192 khz for high-resolution audio playback. McIntosh will also be displaying their MEN 220 room correction device in room zero on the XRT1K loudspeakers ($35,000) and MC601 mono block amplifiers ($13,000/pair). The MEN 220 device sets the room up properly and allows the listener to do an instant A/B comparison.

 

 

 

Totem Acoustic

Vince Bruzzese- Chief Designer & Company Founder

Lucy Lentini- Vice President of Sales & Marketing

  • Totem will debut their brand new Forest Signature speaker in a custom Mahogany finish ($6,000/pair) alongside their new in-wall/ceiling speaker line KIN. Vince will also discuss their Torrent technology featured in their Element series. This technology allows a speaker design without a crossover.

 

 

 

Bowers & Wilkins

Patrick Butler- Regional Sales Manager

Evan Brender- Field Support Specialist

  • Bowers & Wilkins will debut their brand new 800 series in-wall loudspeakers ($6,000/pair) along with their flagship 800 Diamond Series Speakers ($24,000/pair) and 802 Diamond Series speakers ($15,000/pair). Lastly they will be presenting their new media products, the A5, A7 and critically acclaimed headphones.

 

 

 

Kimber Kable

Nate Mansfield- National Sales Manager

  • Kimber Kable will be demonstrating their 6000 series cabling along with their brand new KS2400 USB cable. Most interestingly will be their IsoMike demonstration. The Isomike presentation consists of playing back super high-resolution, 4-channel DSD recordings over 4 identical speakers (2 in the front, 2 in the rear). These recordings were created with a special microphone allowing the listener to truly hear the entire space the music was created in. This is the only system with the recording and playback elements designed to work together.

 

 

 

Bel Canto

PJ Zornosa- National Sales Manager

  • The REF DAC system from Bel Canto consists of the DAC 3.5vb MKII digital-to-analog convertor, VBS1 power supply, REF Link USB convertor and REF500M monoblock amplifiers. They will demonstrate using redbook CD’s, high-resolution music files from a computer and a turntable how a compact system can still provide reference level sound quality.

 

 

 

Joe Frattasi- National Sales Manager

  • Autonomics will be demonstrating their music media server that stores all of your music in one place along with popular music services such as Pandora, Rhapsody and more. This system will be displayed with the Classe CP-800 that accepts the USB output from the server to provide the highest-quality sound quality from even the lower-resolution sources.

 

 

 

Rogers High Fidelity

Roger Gibboni- Chief Designer & Company Founder

  • Rogers High Fidelity will partner with DeVore Fidelity (both New York designed and manufactured products) to debut two new products. Rogers will debut their EHF200 MKII tube integrated amplifier ($14,000) and DeVore will debut their brand new Gibbon X loudspeaker ($11,000/pair). This system will be wired with reference lever Kimber Kable.

 

 

 

Devore Fidelity

John Devore- Chief Designer, President & Company Founder

  • Rogers High Fidelity will partner with DeVore Fidelity (both New York designed and manufactured products) to debut two new products. Rogers will be debuting their EHF200 MKII tube integrated amplifier ($14,000) and DeVore will debut their brand new Gibbon X loudspeaker ($11,000/pair). This system will be wired with reference lever Kimber Kable.

 

 

VPI

Jack Rubinson- National Sales Manager

Harry Weisfeld- Chief Designer & Company Co-Founder

  • VPI will discuss the renaissance of vinyl and how it has influenced their recent designs.

 

 

Sonus Faber

Bill Peugh- Eastern Regional Manager

  • Sonus Faber and Audio Research will partner to display the flagship offerings of both of their firms. This system will consist of the Sonus Faber Aida with the Audio Research REF250 monoblock amplifiers, Reference 5SE pre-amplifier along with the DAC8. Sonus Faber will also demonstrate their new entry Venere line with the brand new Audio Research VSI75 tube integrated amplifier.

 

 

 

Audio Research

Dave Gordon- National Sales Manager

  • Sonus Faber and Audio Research will partner to display the flagship offerings of both of their firms. This system will consist of the Sonus Faber Aida with the Audio Research REF250 monoblock amplifiers, Reference 5SE pre-amplifier along with the DAC8. Sonus Faber will also demonstrate their new entry Venere line with the brand new Audio Research VSI75 tube integrated amplifier.

 

Phil Koch – VP Operations

Nick Fitzsimmons – Production Manager

Rogue Audio will be marking the world debut of their new Pharaoh hybrid integrated amplifier ($3,495) as well as demonstrating the new entry level Sphinx integrated amplifier  ($1,295).

These amplifiers blend tubes with solid state to offer the best of both worlds in great sounding and energy efficient “green” designs.
